Immerse yourself in the photogenic beauty of Cape Cod. These shores are beautiful year-round, but I have a special affinity for fall on the Cape. Not only might we experience some fall foliage color, but the sea grasses on the tidal flats near Brewster are tall and beginning to turn golden. And, this is considered the "shoulder" season on the Cape, meaning the summer crowds have left and the Cape is quieter than in the summer months.
Agenda/Itinerary
Weather, light, wind and tidal conditions vary widely on Cape Cod, therefore I do not publish an itinerary in advance. Having led this workshop since 2016, I have many locations including lighthouses, marshes, tidal flats, quaint villages, galleries, harbors, piers, and more. Each evening I'll share the following day's itinerary based on conditions for the day.
Whether you photograph with a traditional DSLR or mirrorless camera, enjoy infrared photography, use your iPhone, or all three, as many of us do, you'll enjoy the sites and experiences I have lined up for you.

I founded Rad Drew Photography, LLC in 2009 and have built my career around photography, teaching, and the shared experience of exploring remarkable places with other photographers. I lead photography workshops and tours throughout the USA and internationally, including the Palouse, Cape Cod, the United Arab Emirates, Tuscany, the South of France, and Calabria.
I’m an experienced educator and frequent presenter at photography conferences and camera clubs, working with photographers using everything from iPhones to traditional cameras. My teaching emphasizes creativity, seeing differently, and helping photographers get the most from the equipment they already have.
My photography — particularly my creative iPhone work — has received numerous awards and has been exhibited in galleries from New York to Melbourne. I’m a frequent contributor to the PSA Journal and was recognized in PSA Who’s Who in Photography in 2018.
I live with my wife, metalsmith Nancy Lee, in an historic community in Indianapolis, Indiana.
We are staying at the:
Four Points by Sheraton
3800 State Highway
Eastham, Cape Cod
Our group rate at the Four Points Sheraton is $149.00.
The Welcome Document you receive after registering will have registration instructions and a Direct Booking Link for your convenience.
The maximum group size for this trip is 12 participants.
I intentionally keep my workshops relatively small. Over the years, participants have consistently told me how much they value traveling and photographing with a group that is large enough to be social and engaging, but small enough that everyone gets to know one another and share the experience.
A limited group size also makes our day-to-day logistics easier and gives us greater flexibility as we travel, photograph, and respond to changing conditions and opportunities.
Most importantly, it allows me to be available to you when you need me.
My approach as a group leader is introduce you to extraordinary locations at the right time of day and to give you the freedom to do your own thing. I won't intrude, but if/when you want help, I’m there.
Whether you have questions about composition, camera settings, infrared photography with your “big” camera or your iPhone, or simply want another set of eyes on what you’re seeing, I’ll be available to work with you individually.
Capping the group at 12 allows me to preserve that personal, flexible approach while still creating the camaraderie and shared experience that have become such an enjoyable part of these trips.
This Trip is for Traditional, Infrared, and iPhone Photographers.
I want you to know participants use both traditional and iPhone cameras, and many today travel only with their iPhone.
What ever you're photographing with, I will be there to support you!
While I enjoy supporting traditional photographers and infrared photography with converted "big" cameras, I also love the iPhone. I've been creating with the iPhone since my first iPhone 4 in 2009 and I've been amazed at the evolution of the iPhone in recent years. Today's iPhone is a tool worthy of our camera bag and for many, offers a way to travel light while still creating high quality photographs. If you're an iPhone photographer, I'll support you in getting the most from your iPhone camera, camera apps, and processing tools. That includes creating infrared with the iPhone, which I've been exploring since the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
I'll be there to support you in the field in creating great photos with your traditional camera, infrared camera, or iPhone.
Bottled water is provided each day
at least one classroom session, and daily instruction in the field
I’ve been photographing Cape Cod since 2016 and know the region well. Before each workshop, I spend several days scouting familiar locations and looking for new opportunities.
